Meme coin creator competition: how sasa's volume prize works
8 min read · Updated October 26, 2026
sasa's meme coin creator competition rewards the creator whose coins draw the most trading from other people. It runs from Oct 23 to Nov 25, 2026. The creator whose coins, launched on sasa during the competition, get the most volume from other traders wins 0.25% of that volume, up to $100,000. Only first place is paid, and there is no prize if the winner's volume is below $100,000.
This guide sets out the rules plainly, shows the prize maths with real numbers and gives a realistic plan for a creator who wants to take part. The live standings and the official wording are on the competition page; where this article and that page differ, the page wins.
What are the rules of the sasa creator competition?
- Dates: Oct 23 to Nov 25, 2026.
- Eligible coins: coins launched on sasa during the competition. Coins launched before it started do not count.
- What is measured: trading volume on your coins from other traders. Your own buying and selling is not the target; the competition is about what other people trade.
- Excluded: Solana coins. A coin launched on Solana through sasa does not count toward the competition.
- Winner: the single creator with the most qualifying volume across their coins.
- Prize: 0.25% of the winner's qualifying volume, capped at $100,000.
- Minimum: no prize is paid if the winner's volume is below $100,000.
- Only first place is paid. There are no runner-up prizes.
Because Solana coins are excluded, the coins that count are the ones launched through sasa's 5-minute launch race, which starts a coin on Base, BNB Chain, Robinhood Chain and Arc at the same address and leaves it with one locked pool on whichever chain attracted the most buying. If you are planning a Solana launch anyway, how to launch a meme coin on Solana covers it, but it will not add to your competition total.
How is the prize calculated?
The prize is a straight percentage of the winner's qualifying volume: 0.25%, which is $2.50 for every $1,000 traded. Three numbers frame it:
- Below $100,000 of volume: no prize, even for first place.
- At $100,000 of volume: 0.25% is $250.
- At $40,000,000 of volume: 0.25% is $100,000, the cap. Volume above that does not raise the prize.
Worked example: what a winning creator might earn
Example (illustrative numbers, not a forecast): a creator launches four coins through the race during the competition. Over the following weeks, other traders trade $2,000,000 of volume across those four coins, and nobody else beats that total.
- Competition prize: 0.25% of $2,000,000 is $5,000.
- Creator fees, which are separate from the competition: sasa pools charge 2% per trade, and the creator earns 30% of that fee forever unless they chose buyback-and-burn. On $2,000,000 of volume, the 2% pool fee is $40,000, and 30% of that is $12,000.
- Together, in this example, the creator would receive $5,000 from the competition and $12,000 in fees over the period.
Two things stand out. First, the creator fee keeps paying after the competition ends, on every future trade in the winning pool, while the prize is a one-off. Second, the same volume that wins the competition is what produces the fee income, so the work is the same: build coins people actually want to trade.
Who is the competition for?
Any creator launching on sasa during the window is in it automatically by launching eligible coins. In practice the competition favours creators with an audience or a community that trades, and creators who launch more than once, since the total is across all of their eligible coins. A single strong coin can win; so can several solid ones.
It is not a lottery, and it is not designed for creators who launch and walk away. Volume from other traders only comes when people keep finding the coin, buying it and selling it over days and weeks.
How to compete: a practical plan
- Plan the launch before you press the button. Use the meme coin launch checklist for name, ticker, image, fee mode and first buy.
- Know your costs. A race launch needs a first buy on each chain (from $5 per chain) plus small network fees; how much does it cost to launch a meme coin compares launch costs across options.
- Tell people when it starts. The race lasts five minutes, so a community that knows the exact time shows up during it. How to announce a coin launch on X covers timing and wording.
- Launch from /create/ and stay present during the race and the first hours after it.
- Keep the coin visible. Coins that keep trading appear on the daily lists that buyers browse, which feeds more volume.
- Launch again if you have a good idea. Your total counts every eligible coin you launched during the competition.
What does not help
- Trading your own coins back and forth. The measure is volume from other traders, and it costs you the 2% pool fee on each trade anyway.
- Launching many low-effort coins at once. Coins nobody trades add nothing to the total and can make holders wary of your later launches.
- Promising holders a share of a prize you have not won. Only first place is paid, and only above $100,000 of volume.
- Launching on Solana for the competition. Solana launches have their own strengths, but they are excluded from the competition total.
- Waiting until the last days. A coin launched near Nov 25 has little time to build volume before the window closes.
Does the competition change how a launch works?
No. Coins in the competition launch exactly like any other race coin. The coin goes live on Base, BNB Chain, Robinhood Chain and Arc at the same contract address, each pool starting at about $3,000 market cap. For five minutes anyone buys on any chain from one USDC balance. The chain with the most buying wins, the losing pools are converted at the Chainlink price and moved to the winner minus a 2% hand-over fee, holders on losing chains receive their coins on the winning chain automatically, and the winning pool is locked forever.
What the competition adds is a reason to care about the weeks after the race, not just the five minutes of it. Volume that counts can come from trading on the winning pool long after launch day, so a creator who keeps posting, answering holders and giving people a reason to come back has a real advantage over one who launches and disappears. The locked pool helps here: buyers know the liquidity cannot be pulled, which removes one of the most common reasons people avoid trading a new coin.
How buyers can use the competition
For traders, the competition is mainly a signal about creators. A creator who is clearly competing has a reason to stay active and keep a coin alive, which is useful context but not a promise of anything. Meme coins are highly risky and most lose value; the competition does not change that. The usual checks still apply before buying: the token check on each coin page, the holder spread and the chart. New launches show on the daily top gainers lists along with everything else trading on sasa.
Key dates and where to check standings
The competition opened on Oct 23, 2026 and closes on Nov 25, 2026. The competition page shows the current standings and the full rules. Check it before you plan a launch late in the window, and read the eligibility wording there if you are unsure whether a particular coin counts. Looking at the leader's total also tells you roughly how much volume it would take to compete, which is a better guide to planning than guessing.
Questions
When does the sasa creator competition end?
It runs from Oct 23 to Nov 25, 2026. Only coins launched on sasa during that period count.
How much can you win in the sasa meme coin creator competition?
The winner receives 0.25% of their qualifying volume, up to $100,000. The cap is reached at $40 million of volume.
Is there a prize for second place in the sasa competition?
No. Only first place is paid.
Do Solana meme coins count in the sasa creator competition?
No. Solana coins do not count toward the competition. Coins launched through sasa's launch race on Base, BNB Chain, Robinhood Chain and Arc do.
What happens if the winner has less than $100,000 in volume?
No prize is paid. The competition only pays out when the winner's qualifying volume reaches at least $100,000.
Does trading my own coin count as volume in the competition?
The competition measures volume from other traders on your coins, so trading your own coin is not what it rewards, and each trade also costs the 2% pool fee.
