Four.meme vs pump.fun: BNB Chain or Solana for meme coins?

9 min read · Updated October 26, 2026

Four.meme and pump.fun do the same job on different chains. Four.meme is the leading bonding-curve launchpad on BNB Chain and graduates coins to PancakeSwap; pump.fun is the leading one on Solana and graduates coins to its own exchange, PumpSwap. pump.fun is larger most of the time and cheaper to launch on, while Four.meme has the closer link to the Binance user base and has had stretches, like October 2025, where it out-earned pump.fun. The right choice depends mostly on which chain's traders you want to reach.

Below we compare the two on cost, mechanics, audience and history, using reporting from 2025 and 2026. Fees change, so treat every number as a starting point and confirm on each platform before you launch.

How we compared them

A launchpad comparison only matters if it helps you decide where a coin has the best chance. We used six criteria:

  1. Cost to create a coin, and the currency you need.
  2. Fee per trade on the curve and after graduation.
  3. How graduation works and where liquidity ends up.
  4. Who trades there: the audience and how big it is.
  5. Security and platform history.
  6. Tools around the launchpad: wallets, terminals and data.

How does launching on Four.meme work?

You connect a BNB Chain wallet (Binance Wallet is supported, as are common wallets like MetaMask), enter a name, ticker, image and description, and pay a small creation fee of about 0.005 BNB plus gas. The coin starts on a bonding curve: each buy pushes the price up, each sell pushes it down. When roughly 18 BNB has gone into the curve, the coin hands off to PancakeSwap and the liquidity provider tokens are burned, so the pool cannot be pulled.

Four.meme is not the same thing as Binance Launchpad, but it sits close to the Binance world: BNB Chain is Binance's chain, Binance Wallet supports it, and BNB Chain meme rallies often start when Binance figures talk about a meme. In June 2026 Four.meme introduced OpenFour, a framework that lets outside teams build their own launch mechanics (custom curves and trading logic) on top of Four.meme's system.

How does launching on pump.fun work?

You sign in with a Solana wallet, fill in the same details and confirm. There is no platform fee to create the coin, just a small SOL network fee. Every coin gets one billion tokens, most of them on the curve, with no presale or team allocation. While the coin trades on the curve, each trade pays a fee (about 1.25% in October 2026 breakdowns), and part of that goes to the creator. When the curve fills, the coin graduates to PumpSwap, pump.fun's exchange, which replaced Raydium as the destination in March 2025.

Two 2026 changes matter: pump.fun added USDC-paired coins in May 2026, and in July 2026 made BOOST the default, which uses part of the graduation liquidity to buy and burn the coin in the first five minutes after migration. For the step-by-step mechanics of a curve, see our bonding curve simulator.

Four.meme vs pump.fun: which has lower fees?

To create a coin, pump.fun is cheaper: no platform fee versus about 0.005 BNB on Four.meme. Per trade on the curve the two are close, with Four.meme at a flat 1% and pump.fun at about 1.25% in its first tier. After graduation they diverge. Four.meme coins trade on PancakeSwap at PancakeSwap's pool fees; pump.fun coins trade on PumpSwap, where the fee steps down in tiers as market cap rises.

Gas is the other difference. BNB Chain gas per trade is small but not zero, and a minimum fee of 0.001 BNB per trade on Four.meme means very small trades pay a higher share. Solana fees are usually fractions of a cent, though priority fees during busy launches can add up. For a wider view across launchpads, see meme coin launchpad fees compared.

Worked example (illustrative only): a trader buys $50 of a new coin and later sells it for $60. On a flat 1% curve fee, that is $0.50 on the buy and $0.60 on the sell, $1.10 in total, plus gas. On a 1.25% curve fee, it is about $0.63 and $0.75, roughly $1.38, plus network fees. For most traders this gap matters less than slippage on a thin curve, which can easily be several percent on a fast-moving coin. Our guide to price impact vs slippage explains why.

Which has more traders and attention?

Most of the time, pump.fun. It has created more than 11 million tokens since 2024, and reporting from mid-2026 put it at roughly 60% of Solana launchpad activity. Trading terminals, Telegram bots and alert channels watch it constantly.

Four.meme has had big moments. On October 7, 2025, Binance's former CEO posted 'BNB meme szn!' on X, and the next day Four.meme users created more than 10,000 tokens in 24 hours, with BNB Chain coins taking 19 of the top 20 trending spots on DexScreener. During that run Four.meme passed pump.fun in fee revenue. Rallies like that tend to come in waves, so audience size on BNB Chain swings more than on Solana.

The audiences also differ in character. BNB Chain meme traders often come from Binance's own apps and from Chinese-language communities, and some of the biggest BNB Chain memes of the October 2025 run had Chinese names. Solana's crowd is larger and more spread out, heavily driven by trading terminals, Telegram bots and X. A meme that lands with one group can mean nothing to the other, so the language and references of your coin are a real factor in where to launch it.

What should you prepare differently for each chain?

The creative work (name, ticker, image, a one-line story) is the same on both. The practical setup is not:

  • Funds: on Four.meme you need BNB for the creation fee, gas and any first buy. On pump.fun you need SOL for the network fee and first buy (or USDC for a USDC-paired coin since May 2026).
  • Wallet: a BNB Chain wallet such as Binance Wallet or MetaMask for Four.meme; a Solana wallet such as Phantom for pump.fun.
  • First buy: on both, a first buy makes you a holder from the start. Keep it modest so buyers do not see one wallet holding a large share.
  • Socials: BNB Chain memes often spread through Binance Square, X and Chinese-language Telegram groups; Solana memes through X, Telegram and terminal feeds.
  • Timing: on both, the first minutes decide most launches. Post your announcement as soon as the coin is live, not an hour later.

A practical point on cost: the graduation target is a fixed amount of the chain's own coin (about 18 BNB on Four.meme), so in dollar terms it rises and falls with BNB's price. The same is true of pump.fun's target in SOL. A coin needs more dollars of buying to graduate when BNB or SOL is expensive.

Is Four.meme safe? Is pump.fun safe?

Both platforms use curves that remove some classic rug methods: no presale, and liquidity is locked or burned at graduation. That does not make the coins safe. A creator can still buy a big share early and sell into buyers, and coordinated wallets can fake demand. Check the holder map and look for bundled wallets before buying anything new.

Platform history differs. Four.meme was exploited twice in early 2025, losing about $183,000 in February and about $120,000 to $130,000 in March, after which some launch functions were paused and compensation was offered. pump.fun has not had an exploit of that kind in the sources we checked, but it has drawn regulatory attention: the UK's FCA warned about it in late 2024, it blocked UK users in December 2024, and a US class action filed in January 2025 was still ongoing in 2026 reporting.

What does the first hour of a launch look like on each?

The pattern is similar on both chains. In the first seconds, bots and fast traders buy, often before any human has seen the coin. Within a few minutes, most coins have either picked up a stream of buyers or stalled with a handful of holders. On busy days, thousands of new coins compete for attention on each launchpad, so a coin without a clear meme and an announcement usually fades within the hour.

The main difference is speed of discovery. On Solana, terminals and bots react to new pump.fun coins almost instantly, so a coin gets seen quickly but also gets sniped quickly. On BNB Chain, discovery leans more on Binance-linked apps, DexScreener and social channels, so a coin's early buyers depend more on the creator's own promotion. Either way, watch the holder list in the first hour: if a few wallets hold most of the supply, that is a warning sign.

What happens after a coin graduates?

On Four.meme, the coin moves to PancakeSwap, the largest exchange on BNB Chain, and the LP tokens are burned. From then on it trades like any other BNB Chain token and anyone with a BNB wallet can buy it. On pump.fun, the coin moves to PumpSwap and the liquidity is locked there; Solana aggregators route trades to it. In both cases the coin's fate after graduation depends on whether buyers keep coming. For more on the mechanics, see meme coin graduation explained.

Can you trade both from one place?

Yes, a few ways. Multi-chain terminals like GMGN support both Solana and BNB Chain. pump.fun itself started letting users trade BNB Chain coins with SOL in May 2026. sasa lets you buy coins on Solana and BNB Chain (plus Base, Robinhood Chain, Arc and Ethereum) from one USDC balance, routing the swap and the cross-chain move for you; it is newer and smaller than the others, so check whether the coins you want are listed. You can see what is moving on each chain in sasa's daily lists for BNB Chain meme coins and Solana meme coins, updated every 30 minutes. The guide on how to buy meme coins on BNB Chain covers the BNB side step by step.

If you are open to other chains, the best chains to launch a meme coin weighs Solana, BNB Chain, Base and others. If Four.meme is close but not right, see Four.meme alternatives; for the Solana rivals, read pump.fun vs LetsBonk, and for the USDC route into Solana, sasa vs pump.fun.

One plain note: most coins on both launchpads never graduate, and many go to near zero within hours. Launch or buy only with money you can afford to lose.

Questions

What fees does Four.meme charge?

Public 2026 reviews list a creation fee of about 0.005 BNB plus gas, and a trading fee of 1% per trade with a minimum of 0.001 BNB. After graduation, coins trade on PancakeSwap at its pool fees.

When does a Four.meme coin graduate?

When roughly 18 BNB has gone into its bonding curve. The coin then moves to PancakeSwap and the liquidity provider tokens are burned.

Is Four.meme bigger than pump.fun?

Usually not. pump.fun has created more than 11 million tokens and held roughly 60% of Solana launchpad activity in mid-2026. Four.meme briefly out-earned pump.fun during the BNB Chain meme season in October 2025.

Is Four.meme owned by Binance?

No. Four.meme is a separate launchpad on BNB Chain and is not Binance Launchpad, though Binance Wallet supports it and Binance-linked memes often trade there.

Has Four.meme been hacked?

It had two exploits in early 2025: about $183,000 in February and about $120,000 to $130,000 in March. Some functions were paused and compensation was offered.

Can I launch the same coin on BNB Chain and Solana?

Not as one coin on these two launchpads. You would launch separate coins. sasa's launch race puts one coin on Base, BNB Chain, Robinhood Chain and Arc at the same address for 5 minutes, but it does not include Solana.

Which is better for a beginner, Four.meme or pump.fun?

Pick the chain where you already hold funds. If you have SOL, pump.fun is cheaper and busier. If you have BNB or use Binance Wallet, Four.meme is the natural fit. Keep your first buy small either way.
