sasa vs pump.fun: fees, chains and how launches differ

9 min read · Updated October 26, 2026

pump.fun is the bigger, cheaper and more established way to launch a Solana meme coin: creating a coin costs nothing beyond a network fee, the creator keeps the full creator fee, and most Solana memecoin traffic already flows through it. sasa is a newer, much smaller web app that launches Solana coins on that same standard curve but lets you pay about $5 from a USDC balance with no SOL or Solana wallet, and it adds Base, BNB Chain, Robinhood Chain, Arc and Ethereum from the same balance. Pick pump.fun if you already live on Solana; pick sasa if you start from USDC or an email account, or want to trade and launch across several chains in one place.

This page is written by the sasa team, so we have tried hard to be fair. Where pump.fun is better, we say so. Where a number could not be checked against a 2026 source, we describe it in words instead of guessing.

How we compared them

We looked at the things that actually change your result as a creator or trader, not at marketing features. Each criterion below shows up in the table and in its own section.

  • Cost to launch: what you pay before the coin exists, and in which currency.
  • Trading fees and creator fees: what each trade costs and who receives what.
  • Chains and money in: which networks you can use and what you need to hold.
  • Wallet and account: do you need a crypto wallet, or is an email enough.
  • Reach: where a new coin shows up and how many traders see it.
  • Graduation: what happens when the curve fills.
  • Track record: age, size and known issues.

What is pump.fun and why is it the default on Solana?

pump.fun launched in January 2024 and made the fair-launch bonding curve the standard way to start a Solana meme coin. Every coin starts with a fixed supply of one billion tokens, most of which sit on the curve, and there are no presales or team allocations. You name the coin, add an image, and it is live in under a minute. By mid-2026 public trackers counted more than 11 million tokens created on it and cumulative revenue above $1 billion.

Its biggest strength is reach. Because so much Solana memecoin activity starts on pump.fun, the trading terminals, bots and charting sites all watch it closely. A coin that gets early buys there is seen by a very large number of traders within minutes. No newer app, including sasa, can match that today.

pump.fun has also kept shipping. It replaced the old Raydium migration with its own exchange, PumpSwap, in March 2025. It added USDC-paired coins in May 2026, and the same month it started letting users trade coins on Ethereum, Base and BNB Chain with SOL from one Solana wallet, with gas paid by pump.fun. In July 2026 it made BOOST the default, which uses part of the liquidity set aside at graduation to buy and burn the coin in the first minutes after it moves to PumpSwap.

What is sasa and how is it different?

sasa (sasapad.fun) is a web app where you trade any coin and launch your own from one USDC balance, called Cash. You can sign up with an email and never touch a wallet, or connect one such as MetaMask. From the same balance you can buy coins on Solana, Base, BNB Chain, Robinhood Chain, Arc and Ethereum; sasa routes the swap and the cross-chain move, so you put USDC in and get the coin out without bridging anything yourself.

On Solana, sasa does not run its own curve. A Solana coin launched on sasa uses Solana's standard launch curve, the same one pump.fun runs, so it is visible in Solana explorers like Solscan, on DexScreener and GMGN, and in wallets from the first second. The difference is the front door: you pay in USDC, you need no SOL, and you need no Solana wallet.

On EVM chains sasa does something pump.fun does not: a 5-minute launch race. One coin goes live on Base, BNB Chain, Robinhood Chain and Arc at the same contract address, each pool starting at about $3,000 market cap. For 5 minutes people buy on whichever chain they like, and the chain with the most buying wins. The full rules are in how the 5-minute launch race works.

sasa vs pump.fun: which is cheaper to launch a Solana coin?

pump.fun is cheaper. As of October 2026 it charges no platform fee to create a coin; you only pay a small Solana network fee in SOL. A Solana launch on sasa costs about $5 from your USDC Cash plus whatever first buy you choose. What the $5 buys you is convenience: no SOL, no Solana wallet, and the ability to start from USDC you hold on another chain.

Worked example (illustrative, not a quote): you want to launch a Solana coin with a $20 first buy. On pump.fun you need a Solana wallet holding a little more than $20 of SOL, so the first buy and the network fee are covered. Your total is roughly $20 plus a few cents. On sasa you need $25 of USDC in Cash: about $5 for the launch and $20 for the first buy. If you already hold SOL in a Solana wallet, pump.fun saves you about $5. If you only hold USDC on Base or an exchange, sasa saves you the steps of buying SOL, setting up a wallet and moving funds, which our guide on how to send USDC to Solana shows can take a while the first time.

What fees does each one charge per trade?

pump.fun publishes a fee schedule that changes with market cap. Public breakdowns from October 2026 describe a fee of about 1.25% per trade while a coin is on the curve, of which about 0.30% goes to the creator. After graduation, PumpSwap fees step down in tiers as the coin's market cap grows. Exact tiers change, so check pump.fun's own fee page before you rely on a number.

For Solana coins launched through sasa, the curve is the same standard curve, so the per-trade mechanics are the curve's own. The difference is who gets the creator fee: on sasa it is split half to the creator and half to sasa, and that split is written into the launch, so neither side can change it later. On pump.fun directly, the creator keeps the full creator share. If creator income is your main goal and you already hold SOL, that is a real point in pump.fun's favour. The mechanics are covered in Solana creator fees explained.

On sasa's EVM launch race the model is different: sasa pools charge 2% per trade, and the creator earns 30% of that fee forever, or can choose buyback-and-burn instead. For how the main launchpads compare on this point, see meme coin launchpad fees compared.

Do you need a wallet for pump.fun or sasa?

On pump.fun you sign in with a Solana wallet, and you need SOL in it to pay network fees and buy coins. Its 2026 multi-chain trading creates matching EVM addresses for you, but the starting point is still a Solana wallet funded with SOL.

On sasa you can sign up with an email address and never install a wallet. You fund Cash by sending Solana USDC to a one-time deposit address (or depositing on another supported chain) and withdraw USDC back to any Solana address. If you prefer, you can connect a wallet like MetaMask instead. Our guide to buying meme coins without a wallet compares the main ways to do this.

Where does a new coin show up?

Both put Solana coins on the same standard curve, so a coin is visible in the usual Solana places either way: Solscan, DexScreener, GMGN, trading terminals and wallets. The difference is the home page. pump.fun's own feed is watched by a huge crowd; sasa's lists, such as new Solana meme coins, reach a far smaller audience today. sasa reads the first trades straight from Solana, so the chart and trade list on its coin page fill in from the first trade.

What happens when the curve fills?

On pump.fun, when a coin's curve fills it graduates to PumpSwap, pump.fun's own exchange, with the liquidity locked in the pool. Since July 2026, BOOST adds a burst of automatic buying and burning right after migration. On sasa, a Solana coin follows the same curve and graduates to a regular pool when it fills; holders do not need to do anything. In both cases graduation is rare: public data shows only a small share of new coins, usually a few percent at most, ever get there. More in what happens when a Solana meme coin graduates.

What can you do on sasa that pump.fun does not offer, and the other way round?

pump.fun's strengths are its size, livestreams on coin pages, the PUMP token with its buyback program, PumpSwap liquidity, and a terminal (it bought the trading terminal Padre in October 2025). If you want the biggest audience for a Solana coin, it is the obvious choice.

sasa's extras sit around the launch rather than in it:

  • One USDC balance for Solana and five EVM chains, with no bridging on your side. See trading meme coins on several chains from one balance.
  • The 5-minute launch race on Base, BNB Chain, Robinhood Chain and Arc, where losing pools are converted at the Chainlink price and moved to the winner minus a 2% hand-over fee, and the winner's pool is locked forever.
  • A token check on every coin page: honeypot or can't-sell, buy and sell tax, whether more can be minted, and top-10 holder share.
  • Copy trading where each copied trade waits for you to Apply or Reject, and a swipe mode for new coins.
  • Futures and predictions from the same balance (not available in some countries, including the US and Turkey).

Is sasa safer than pump.fun?

Neither app makes a meme coin safe. The coin is only as good as the people behind it and the people buying it. pump.fun's curve design removes some old risks (no presale, no team allocation, liquidity locked at graduation), and sasa's Solana coins share that design. sasa's token check helps you spot common traps on any coin, but it cannot predict a creator dumping. pump.fun has faced regulatory warnings and a US class action, and it blocks UK users; sasa is new and has a much shorter record. Treat every launch as high risk and only use money you can lose.

Questions

Is sasa built on pump.fun?

sasa's Solana coins launch on Solana's standard launch curve, the same curve pump.fun runs, which is why they show up in Solana explorers, DexScreener, GMGN and wallets immediately. sasa's own app, USDC balance and EVM launch race are separate from pump.fun.

Is pump.fun cheaper than sasa?

To launch, yes. pump.fun has no platform fee to create a coin beyond a small SOL network fee, while sasa costs about $5 from USDC plus your first buy. sasa's cost buys you a launch with no SOL and no Solana wallet.

Who gets the creator fees on a sasa Solana coin?

They are split half to the creator and half to sasa, and the split is fixed in the launch itself. On pump.fun directly, the creator keeps the full creator share.

Can I use pump.fun without a Solana wallet?

Not in the usual way; pump.fun expects a Solana wallet funded with SOL. sasa lets you sign up with an email and launch or buy Solana coins from a USDC balance.

Does pump.fun support other chains in 2026?

Since May 2026 pump.fun lets users trade coins on Ethereum, Base and BNB Chain with SOL from one Solana wallet, with gas paid by pump.fun. Launching there was not clearly confirmed in the reporting we checked. sasa launches on Solana and runs a launch race on Base, BNB Chain, Robinhood Chain and Arc.

Which is better for a first-time creator?

If you already have a Solana wallet with SOL, pump.fun is cheaper and has more traders. If you have never used a wallet, sasa is simpler because email and USDC are enough. In both cases most new coins never graduate, so keep the first buy small.

Can I sell a sasa Solana coin on pump.fun?

The coin sits on the standard Solana curve, so Solana apps that read that curve can trade it. On sasa, selling while the coin is on the curve sells it back to the curve and returns the proceeds to your USDC Cash.
