Zora alternatives: where creators launch coins now (2026)
8 min read · Updated October 26, 2026
If you are looking for a Zora alternative, the right one depends on what you used Zora for. Creators who want a coin tied to their identity can look at Clanker or Bankr, which launch coins from a social post; meme coin launchers will find bigger crowds on pump.fun (Solana) or a multi-chain launch on sasa; and traders who liked buying fresh Base coins can now do that from Coinbase's Launches tab. Zora itself has moved much of its attention to attention markets on Solana.
Below we cover what Zora does today, why its users are shopping around, and six alternatives grouped by the job you want done, with a fair look at each one's strengths and costs.
What is Zora, and what changed in 2026?
Zora began as an NFT and media protocol and became one of the breakout apps on Base. Two launches defined its 2025: the ZORA token in April, and creator coins in July, which gave every Base profile its own coin. Individual posts could also become content coins, so a photo or a clip could be bought and sold like a small meme coin. Coins trade in Uniswap v4 pools with a hook that handles fees and rewards.
Zora's documentation describes the fee model like this: creator coins and content coins share a 1% fee, split between the creator, the platform that referred the coin, the trade referrer and the protocol, with 20% of the fee reminted as liquidity. Trend coins, a newer type, charge just 0.01% with everything going to the protocol. All new coins open with a sniper tax that starts at 99% and falls to the normal fee over the first 10 seconds.
In February 2026 Zora launched attention markets on Solana, where users take positions on whether a topic, meme or trend gains or loses traction online, and anyone can open a new market for 1 SOL. Early markets were thin; few passed $10,000 in market cap on their first day, according to coverage at the time. Meanwhile Base coin activity dropped sharply: DefiLlama lists Zora coins with more than $10 million in cumulative fees, but only about $5,500 over the 30 days to late October 2026.
Why are people looking for Zora alternatives?
- Liquidity moved. With fewer traders on Zora's Base coins, a new creator or content coin gets less attention than it would have in mid-2025.
- The product moved. Attention markets on Solana are a different thing from a coin tied to your profile, and need SOL to open.
- Many coins are tiny. A content coin per post spreads buyers thin, which suits collectors more than traders looking for momentum.
- Creators want a clearer fee deal. Zora's 1% is shared among several parties, so the creator's slice depends on how and where the coin was traded.
How we compared them
We grouped alternatives by what a Zora user is trying to do, because a creator coin and a meme coin need different things. For each platform we checked the chains, how a coin is created, the fee model, what a creator earns, and what wallet or membership you need. Facts come from each platform's documentation and help pages and from 2025-2026 coverage; where a figure is not published we describe it rather than estimate it.
| If you used Zora to... | Look at | Why | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Launch a coin tied to your social identity | Clanker, Bankr | Launch from a Farcaster cast or an X post | Fee setup varies; Bankr launching is members-only |
| Launch a meme coin with a big audience | pump.fun, Four.meme | Largest Solana and BNB Chain crowds | Heavy competition from new launches |
| Launch on several chains at once | sasa | One coin on Base, BNB Chain, Robinhood Chain and Arc | Newer and smaller |
| Trade fresh Base coins | Coinbase Launches tab, sasa | New coins without hunting contract addresses | Unvetted coins; check before buying |
| Bet on trends and topics | Zora attention markets | Same team, on Solana | Needs SOL; early markets are thin |
Clanker: social launches on Farcaster and Base
Clanker is the nearest relative to Zora's creator-coin idea: you can tag @clanker in a Farcaster cast with a name, ticker and image, and a token goes live on Base in a Uniswap v4 pool. There is no Clanker deployment fee, only Base gas. The creator chooses the pool fee, either fixed or dynamic, can split the creator side across up to seven recipients, and Clanker takes a protocol fee equal to 20% of that fee on top. Farcaster acquired Clanker in October 2025.
Clanker suits creators whose audience is on Farcaster and who want more control over fees than Zora's fixed 1% split. Its volume has also cooled since 2025, so it is not a shortcut to a crowd. Our Clanker vs Zora comparison goes into the differences in detail, and Clanker alternatives covers the wider field.
Bankr: an agent that launches from X
Bankr is an AI agent you can ask to launch a token from its app, a web form, a command line tool, or by tagging @bankrbot on X. Its help pages say launches run on the Doppler protocol, default to Robinhood Chain, and can go to Base, Arbitrum or Arc instead. Each token has a fixed 100 billion supply, an optional 15% creator allocation vesting over a year, and creators earn most of each swap fee. For creators whose audience is on X rather than in a Zora feed, launching with a post is a natural fit.
Two limits to know: launching is currently limited to Bankr Club members, and on Robinhood Chain and Arbitrum you need a little ETH for gas (Arc uses USDC). If you have never used Robinhood Chain, see Robinhood Chain gas fees.
pump.fun: when a meme coin needs the biggest crowd
Some Zora coins were really meme coins wearing a creator label. If that is what you want to launch, pump.fun on Solana has the largest audience. Creating a coin has no platform fee; trades on the bonding curve pay 1.25%, of which 0.30% goes to the creator; and a coin that fills its curve moves to PumpSwap. The downside is noise: so many coins launch each day that a new one without a community behind it disappears quickly. See pump.fun alternatives for the other Solana launchpads, including LetsBonk alternatives for the Raydium-based side.
Coinbase's Launches tab: for traders who miss fresh Base coins
Part of Zora's appeal was discovery: open the app and see new coins. Coinbase covered some of that ground in July 2026 with a Launches tab in the Coinbase app and the Base App. It indexes new Base and Solana tokens automatically and lets users trade them through Coinbase's built-in DEX, with Solana trades routed through Jupiter. It needs a self-custody wallet, not a regular Coinbase account, and every token is labelled unvetted: Coinbase says its filters cannot prevent rug pulls or low-liquidity traps.
It is a trading tool, not a launchpad, so it does not replace Zora for creators. For traders it is a familiar on-ramp, with region restrictions that Coinbase has not fully listed.
sasa: launch and trade across chains from one USDC balance
sasa is a web app where you trade any coin or launch your own from one USDC balance, called Cash. You can sign up with an email address, with no wallet, or connect a wallet such as MetaMask. You can buy coins on Solana, Base, BNB Chain, Robinhood Chain, Arc and Ethereum from that same balance; sasa routes the swap and the cross-chain move, so there is no bridge to do yourself.
For creators, an EVM launch on sasa is a launch race: one coin goes live on Base, BNB Chain, Robinhood Chain and Arc at the same contract address, each pool starting at about $3,000 market cap. After 5 minutes of buying, the chain with the most buying wins, the losing pools are converted at the Chainlink price and moved to the winner minus a 2% hand-over fee, and holders on losing chains receive coins on the winning chain automatically. The winning pool is locked forever. Pools charge 2% per trade, and the creator earns 30% of that fee forever, or can choose buyback-and-burn.
That makes sasa a different shape from Zora: one coin per idea, not a coin per post, with a fixed creator share. It is also newer and smaller than Zora was at its peak, so creators should bring their own audience. The race is explained in how the 5-minute launch race works, and cross-chain meme coins explained covers what holding a coin on several chains means.
Zora's own attention markets: staying with the same team
If you like Zora's ideas and do not mind moving to Solana, its attention markets are the direct successor. Instead of buying a person's coin, you take a position on a topic, such as a meme or a hashtag, and can open a market for 1 SOL. You need SOL and a Solana wallet, and early markets showed large swings from thin order books, so position sizes should stay small while liquidity builds. If you need to get USDC onto Solana first, how to send USDC to Solana walks through it.
Worked example: what a creator keeps from $10,000 of trading
Example only, using the published fee rates above. Suppose a creator's coin trades $10,000 in its first week.
- Zora creator coin: traders pay 1%, or $100 in total fees. That $100 is split between the creator, referrers and the protocol, with 20% reminted as liquidity, so the creator receives a part of it rather than the whole amount.
- Clanker with a 1% creator-set fee: the creator's recipients share about $100, and Clanker's 20% protocol cut is charged on top to traders.
- sasa launch race: pools charge 2%, so $200 in fees, of which 30% (about $60) goes to the creator, or that share goes to buyback-and-burn if the creator chose it.
The cheapest coin for traders is not always the best one for a creator, and the reverse is also true. Meme coin launchpad fees compared lays out every major fee model side by side.
Is Zora still worth using?
For some people, yes. Zora's contracts and fee hooks are well documented, coins are tradable across Base apps through Uniswap v4, and a creator coin tied to a known profile still has a clear story. It is simply quieter than it was, so a new coin there should not expect the attention it might have had in mid-2025. If your goal is a collectible tied to your work rather than a trading frenzy, the quieter market may even suit you.
Which Zora alternative should you use?
- You are a creator on Farcaster: Clanker.
- You are a creator on X and a Bankr Club member: Bankr.
- You want the largest meme coin audience: pump.fun on Solana.
- You want one coin on several EVM chains, a fixed 30% creator share and no gas token to manage: sasa's launch race.
- You mainly trade new Base and Solana coins: Coinbase's Launches tab, or sasa's new meme coins list.
- You like trading trends rather than coins: Zora's attention markets on Solana.
Whatever you pick, creator coins and meme coins are highly speculative. Most lose almost all their value, so only put in money you can afford to lose.
Questions
What is the best Zora alternative for creators?
For creators on Farcaster, Clanker is the closest match, since a coin can be launched from a cast and the creator chooses the fee. For creators on X, Bankr can launch a coin from a post, though launching is currently limited to Bankr Club members.
What fees does Zora charge?
Zora's creator coins and content coins share a 1% trade fee, split between the creator, the referring platform, the trade referrer and the protocol, with 20% reminted as liquidity. Trend coins charge 0.01%, all to the protocol, and new coins open with a short sniper tax that starts at 99%.
Did Zora move to Solana?
Zora launched attention markets on Solana in February 2026, where anyone can open a market on a topic for 1 SOL. Its creator and content coins remain on Base, but activity there has dropped well below 2025 levels.
What is the best Zora alternative on Solana?
pump.fun has the largest Solana meme coin audience and no fee to create a coin. Zora's own attention markets are on Solana too, and sasa can launch a Solana coin on the standard launch curve for about $5 from a USDC balance without a Solana wallet.
Is Zora safe?
Zora's coin contracts are public and documented, and they trade through Uniswap v4 on Base. The risk sits with the coins themselves: most creator and content coins have thin trading and can lose value quickly, so treat any purchase as speculative.
Can I trade Zora coins outside the Zora app?
Yes. Zora coins are standard tokens in Uniswap v4 pools on Base, so they can be traded through other Base apps and aggregators that support those pools. Liquidity is often thin, so check the price impact before you buy.
What is the difference between a creator coin and a meme coin?
A creator coin is tied to a person's profile and is meant to track interest in that person and their work. A meme coin is tied to a joke, image or idea, and usually depends on a community rallying around it rather than on one creator.
